I am Heng Bauran, Cambodian; I am currently doing master degree program in the field of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information system, School of Engineering and Technology at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). I am enrolled to the graduated program since August, 2005 under the scholarship supported by The Japanese Government.
As the first semester has been finished, I am feeling that I have got new concepts and many experiences to complete which I never know during study and work with Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) in Cambodia. It is a very great opportunity for me to earn a lot of knowledge and experiences within a multi-cultural of different nationalities for living, working, and learning together as a big community. I am now doing starting studying second semester. Thus, I am feeling that I will get more new concepts and professional experience GIS and RS field of study, after graduation master program two year period of my academic study in AIT.
After my graduation, I would be very interested in working with the government or other international organizations which are research related to my field study GIS and RS, in order to development geospatial information, which can be useful on the environmental monitoring, land use planning and management, transportation, and easily for study and research.
In the present, Japanese Government is greatest donation country then other donates countries supporting, improving, and rehabilitating many sectors like educational, agricultural, political, infrastructural development and poverty reduction for sustainable development in Cambodia.
In addition, The Japanese government is providing opportunity to me got full scholarship studying master program in AIT and other of Cambodia students are studying master and bachelor degree in Japan. Thus, if without the scholarship government of Japan I and some of Cambodia students would not be got big opportunity continue study in the international institute (AIT). Moreover, I would like to express my sincere gratefulness heartily thanks to government of Japan that always providing a lot of resources to supportive my country in term of development.
I do hope so that Japanese government are being continuously especially in term of providing more full for Master Degree and PhD. Degree in AIT as well as others Japanese institute to our Cambodian students.
